Northern Europe’s first rocket manufacturing facility kicked off just about one year ago, powered by Pythom Space Systems.
A true-to-size rocket model on the roof of a skywalk gave away our presence and natives whispered. Construction of the Nordic’s first orbital rocket had begun, and Nacka Space Beach was born.
“No way they’re building rockets up there!” people said, intrigued, pointing to our location on the third floor. But there was a way. You just had to rethink how rockets are made.
Located just a short boat ride from Stockholm city, Nacka Space Beach is Pythom’s first demonstration of a low-infrastructure microfactory. Created to scale fast around the world, the concept will meet the increasing commercial demand for local launch to space.
Pythom systems compact rocket sizes and storable propellants allow true mobility, affordable launch and uncomplicated infrastructure.
The only such launcher currently under development in Europe, Birka was inspired by Scandinavia’s Viking heritage.
For around 200 years Birka was one of the most important trading centers in the Viking world. The town seeded much of the innovation that led to our modern society. Birka, the rocket, will carry intelligent satellites, robotic machines and exciting experiments to the skies for the benefit of our entire planet. Further out, among the stars, a whole new world of science, resources, energy, discovery and reasoning awaits.
Birka rocket marks Scandinavia’s entry into the greatest marketplace yet, that of the heavens. See you out there.
